The JFK, Jr. Institute was incorporated into the Office of the University Dean for Health and Human Services in 2007. It was established in 2000 to carry on the work of John F. Kennedy, Jr. with a mission to advocate for career ladders, health and educational benefits, and a living wage for frontline workers in health and human services occupations. Contact Us

ProgramsCUNY offers more than 150 undergraduate and graduate certificate and degree programs in health and human services fields, including nursing and allied health.The Office's Quick Grid <pdf> provides a snapshot of popular programs at specific campuses. Additional academic programs can be found using TIPPS. Courses are also offered through Adult & Continuing Education. ResearchThe Office of the Dean collects, analyzes and disseminates university-wide and college specific data on enrollment, retention, graduation, licensing, demographics, employment and earnings of students in nursing and allied health degree programs. The 2010 Nursing Degree Programs Annual Data Report <pdf> includes graduation, enrollment and other data related to CUNY’s AAS, BS, MS, and DNS degree programs in nursing. A survey of CUNY Nursing graduates <pdf> was completed in Fall 2008, and examined graduates’ educational experiences, their experiences as new registered nurses (RNs), and their experiences in the labor market. The Office has also released a report describing patterns of attendance and performance of 1199SEIU represented workers at CUNY <pdf>. Since 1990, over 80,000 1199SEIU members have attended CUNY.
